Sometimes, the baby’s naps are not much longer and thus he can take more naps per day, but the per day sleep duration would remain the same in any case. Correspondingly, baby’s nighttime feeding also relies on the nature of the baby plus how you have developed the routine of the baby. It can happen that he may wake up 2 to 3 times at night for a feed.

You can diminish the lights of the room to make him sleep easier. He can be moved to the crib or his own room. If you make him habitual of rocking, swaddling or pacifying, he will become used to this propensity and will never sleep without these stroke strategies. So at this age, you need to train him to sleep without anything upon whom he can depend. This is the age where your baby is capable to sleep in a crib. The baby will always crave for a feed at that time. His timings are fix and parent’s little recklessness can make him cranky.
Naps are mandatory: Snoozes are always compulsory for the baby. It is a myth that if the baby doesn’t sleep in the day time, he will sleep peacefully throughout the night. Just because of this myth, parents keep their babies awake whole day with force resulting him to get overtired. The baby has a specific rest time and he can’t stay wakeful longer than that, making him awake by that time will make him fretful and cry.
Acknowledge sleep signals: A baby will use his own correspondence way to communicate with you and tell you that he is feeling drowsy. A baby when needs to laid down and feed, he will give a special signal to his parents. This extraordinary signal is only understandable by the caregivers of the baby. They should immediately get him to his crib or room and make him sleep. There can be other signals like yawning, dropping head, crying, rubbing eyes and numerous other sleep signs.
Feeding through the night: Although it completely depends on you to develop the baby’s routine. But it is preferable to set a time to feed him (either breastfeed or formula milk feed) that helps the baby to remain sound. As baby’s sleep time during 24 hours is 15 hours, which implies that they will sleep for 12 hours straight throughout the night and 3 hours at the day and will get nourishment for very few times. This is extremely less nutrition for the infant as he takes very less feed and digests it early. So, mothers should make a routine to get him to feed during sleep time. Always make sure to feed your baby with 24 ounces of milk daily.
