As the baby grow older, parent’s challenge become harder and harder. A 5 month old baby sleep problems are new. Parents must face something new every day. The 5 Month Old Schedule:
Here is the sample sleep schedule for your baby’s 5 months of age:
|7:00 AM||Wake up and feed: The baby’s day has finally started|
|9:00 AM to 10:00 AM||1st Nap of the day: It should be at-least 1 hour nap or longer, in case your baby is still sleepy. Morning nap is very important for baby and mother can also get some extra time to pamper herself.|
|10:00 AM||Feed: After nap feed is very important.|
|12:00 PM to 1:00 PM||2nd Nap of the day: Afternoon nap is also a part of baby’s schedule. Here it is not important to sleep for one hour straight, it can be a catnap only.|
|1:00 PM||Feed: It can be a wakeup feed or this feed can be given to baby after half an hour of waking up.|
|3:00 PM to 4:00 PM||3rd nap of the day: It can be the last nap of the day. It may long for an hour or less, depending on baby’s mood.|
|4:00 PM||Feed:Post naptime feed of the baby.|
|6:15 PM||Bath time: Here the bath time comes, this bath time before making the baby sleep is best because it will make the baby clean, lighter and stress free. Baby can sleep longer if takes bath before sleep.|
|6:45 PM||Feed: This is the last feed of the day, so make the baby feed well and prepare him to sleep. This feed should be on baby’s bed or crib so that he could sleep comfortably there.|
|7:00 PM||Bed time: Finally, it’s the time for a healthy sleep.|
As we already know, 4 months old is the age where baby’s sleep routine has a turning point so the 5 month sleep is an extension of 4 months’ sleep schedule. At five months of age, a baby can go sleep for straight 11 to 12 hours at night. He may take around two to three feeds during the night.

Day time naps
Further, they will have three to four hours of sleep during the day in the form of naps. At this age, the baby will be likely to take three-four naps daily, for one hour approximately. Try to make the last nap end by 6:00p.m. at most, so that baby could sleep early and get his proper sleep.
At the age of 5 months, a baby is not required to have solid foods. But if your baby is weak or your pediatrician recommends then he can have one to two meals of cereals, fruits, eggs, vegetables per day. Anyhow, even with solid foods, mother feed is more important. Mother feed is the ultimate source of nutrition and health for the baby. Baby will take 5 to 6 feedings per day and 2 to 3 feedings during sleep. Sleep time feedings are not necessary; it depends on the sleep training of baby. Water is optional at this age so it can be skipped. But a baby needs 24 to 32 ounces of milk daily for growth. To make your 5 months old baby sleep through the night, always makes his day time feed lively and social and his night time feed quiet and calm. This will make the baby drowsy automatically at night and acknowledge him to sleep right away.
Like 4 month baby sleep training, a baby needs sleep training at the age of 5 months too. He is growing up and you need to train him well to sleep, wake up, feed and play.
